An OiTEZ eScope Portable Microscope is available at IFAC CNR laboratories. This microscope is extremely versatile and can support the diagnostic campaign by providing details and information on the surface of the sample. Equipped with a 2.0 Mega Pixel camera and capable of optical magnification of 10x – 50x, it allows to obtain detailed images regardless of the roughness of the surface of the product. The adjustable 8 LED lighting system gives the opportunity to manage the light according to the reflectivity of the sample surface. The images can be of great use both for evaluating the surface conservation status of the artefact, and for accurately choosing which areas to investigate using spectroscopic techniques, such as FTIR, Raman, etc.
